One day to go to Eagle Festival ~ and we have snow!
not a lot of snow ~ just enough to ‘frost’ everything…
and create scenes like this with the Bald Eagles….
here is a closer look at those two….
kind of bitter looking! A word to the wise to anyone planning on coming out to the Eagle Festival this weekend ~ dress warmly! It is really cold down by the water as there is an outflow wind…hats, scarves and gloves are essential.
another snowy ‘eagle’ shot…
here is that one ~ close up.
there was a bit of a ‘feeding frenzy’ going on in this spot with a couple of North Western Crows as well as eagles.
a few Killdeer around as well….
come mid-day there were less eagles out on the flats – no wonder – it was COLD…
lots of ducks, most huddled close to shorelines and a few Trumpeter Swans off of the log bay area….
here is a bit closer look at a pair of Trumpeters….the rest of them were all having a mid-day nap further out.
They are predicting some snow flurries for tonight and then clear and cold for the weekend….I hope they are right….I have a boat ride planned for the morning!
