Hello 2022

Well, it is now 2022.  Can we please just have a nice calm year.  No heat domes, no massive wildfires, no unprecedented floods....  Think we all deserve an 'off' year!

Weather was cooperative enough for a New Years Day walk over along the dyke.

temperatures were still below freezing, but winds were calm....

way over there on the far pilings, a number of Double crested Cormorant

while along the near shore, lots and lots of ducks.  Mainly Mallard and American Wigeon

wasn't until I down loaded the photos that I realized there was at least one Eurasian Widgeon

Trumpeter Swans scattered all along where ever there was open water.

one of the pairs of Trumpeters...

this gull...an Olympic Gull I think, which means it is a cross between probably a Western Gull and a Glaucous wing Gull, was eating this bit of salmon.

and there were a few Bald Eagles around as well.

another look at the calm scene....
