Well, it is now 2022. Can we please just have a nice calm year. No heat domes, no massive wildfires, no unprecedented floods.... Think we all deserve an 'off' year!
Weather was cooperative enough for a New Years Day walk over along the dyke.
temperatures were still below freezing, but winds were calm....
way over there on the far pilings, a number of Double crested Cormorant
while along the near shore, lots and lots of ducks. Mainly Mallard and American Wigeon
wasn't until I down loaded the photos that I realized there was at least one Eurasian Widgeon
Trumpeter Swans scattered all along where ever there was open water.

this gull...an Olympic Gull I think, which means it is a cross between probably a Western Gull and a Glaucous wing Gull, was eating this bit of salmon.
and there were a few Bald Eagles around as well.
