What a horrible wet day! It is the first day of daylight savings…usually a positive sign as it signals the possibility of an evening walk as well, but we won’t be doing that anytime soon!
all this rain, though hasn’t done much of anything to water levels…the flats look ‘wetter’ but that appears to be standing water and not ‘rising’ water…not like in 2007
here is the log bay on March 13, 2007 – if you scroll back to the last posting, you will see that water levels had dropped from the day before…
there was the path in 2007…again, you can see water levels had receded rapidly over night…almost, but not quite, as quickly as they had risen.
Here is the path as it looked today….the water in it today is just standing water from all the rain.
As for birds….well apart from a slew of Robins and Red-Wings, plus a few soggy Steller’s Jay, there just wasn’t anything out there.
