Figured since it is the first day of October, a month when things usually start to getting interesting here on the estuary, at least as far as Eagles and Salmon go….I should do a posting.
Here is what it looks like right now. This is our boat launch area. The trail is under water, the site for the Eagle Festival Viewing Tent is under water, the water is even creeping up the little path that runs alongside the boat launch. The only ‘good’ thing is that the level is about the same as yesterday, so hopefully that means it has peaked and it will start dropping again.
There were quite few Canada Geese out there towards Mt. Woodside and I could hear a few Bald Eagles and Gulls, but not a lot visible.
The only visible bird was this Great Blue Heron who was poking about in the grass on the west side of the boat launch. Should also mention that it was unseasonably warm today.
