Not much to report today…
It was nice and sunny – in fact felt down right warm in the sunshine although we’d had a slight skiff of snow mixed with rain over night.
The bushes were silent except for a small flock of Gold Crown Kinglets…
only sighting of note was a Wilson’s Snipe (the small white spot in about the middle of the picture)
I’ve inserted this ‘file’ picture just to show what a Snipe looks like – the above photo was taken at Tunkwa Lake, B.C. in 2005.
Back to today, I guess if you really tried you could have counted about a hundred eagles between those scattered on the flats and those riding the thermals over head. A few ducks, just the usual Mallard, American Wigeon, with a few Green Wing Teal and a pair of Gadwall added to the mix. Not even all that many gulls today.
