Such an eventful day....they'd forecast snow for us though....
and snow we got. Here was the log bay just after lunch....
not sure what the Red-wing Blackbirds were doing, but they were very busy down there.
and this guy was cheering them on.
while this Great Blue Heron wasn't looking too impressed.
Later we walked over at the dyke...
a typical scene, some Canada Geese flying to join their friends in the fields, and an eagle perched
the only other activity was this little Downy Woodpecker who was very busy.
just love this scene....snow really enhances the lacework of branches.
Correction: My last post I gave the wrong dates for the Backyard Bird Count (guess I was eager for it to arrive), it is actually the following weekend - Feb. 18 to 21st.
