Snowy start

Despite a snowy start to the day....

the day actually turned out quite nice.....but during the morning walk there were a lot of Junco, Towhee, Robins and....

Varied Thrush busy scratching about in the leaf litter....

Harrison Bay was busier today than it has been....

in fact during the course of our walk we saw a dozen different Song Sparrows!

and more and more American Robin's are showing up.

When we had first arrived we saw some eagle activity out in one of the fields...

and then noticed 2 of them fly up into trees along the shoreline....both young ones, this was one of the Bald Eagles....

and this the other....whatever had been happening in the field, remnants of it are still clutched in it's talons.

we actually walked a bit further along than we normally do and found this almost sand dune area....

which led down to this broad expanse of shoreline....

where this Canada Goose pair were found.
