It is now the evening of the 9th of March and so far this month there hasn't been a day when we haven't woken up to snow, or it has snowed at some point during the day....so I have a question....when the sun shines at the same time as it is raining, you get a 'rainbow'....so...
if it is snowing and the sun shines....is it a snowbow? This is what happened yesterday afternoon as we were returning from a walk to...
the log bay where it was pretty quiet except for....
an American Robin and .....
some Dark-eyed Junco.
We could see some weather coming....
and wondered if we'd get a 'bow' of some sort....and we did.
So today we went over to Harrison Bay. It wasn't raining or snowing but it also wasn't pleasant...
in fact it was darn chilly so we were surprised to hear voices on the river and spotted....
a total of 4 of these canoes coming downriver. Must have been a school class because there was actually a school bus parked in the parking lot. Can't imagine how cold it would have been out there today!
the Bald Eagle pair were back to working on their nest....
and there was a Canada Goose pair out in one of the favorite nesting spots in an adjacent field.
a few Robins here too....also some Song Sparrows....and what has become a regular....
a Downy Woodpecker.
