Well didn't get out to do much exploring but thought I'd set the local scene for 2017....
So here we are.....looking just like it has looked for at least 3 weeks now - white!
this young Mew Gull was very intent on finding a bit of one of the dead salmon buried under the snow....
up on the hillside the outflow winds that are going to bring us frigid temperatures for the next few days were blowing yesterday's snow off the trees.
It has been fairly busy at the feeders....
lot's of Dark eyed Juncos around.
the Fox Sparrow shows up every time we get a bit of fresh snow
while the Anna's Hummingbirds are out there through it all.
Steller's Jay, Song Sparrows, Spotted Towhee, Northern Flicker, European Starlings are out there constantly. Now and then a few Chestnutback Chickadees show up and I've seen some sort of finch flying but they haven't shown up at the feeders yet.
Just out of curiosity thought I'd check back and see what it looked like a year ago today...
slightly different!
So onto another year.....wonder what it will bring!
