Before the camera battery died.....

Weather relented enough today that we were able to get for a walk over to the park....

the start looked pretty much like it has done for a month or so now.

this Bald Eagle gave us a decidedly dirty look as we walked underneath.  There were about half a dozen of them between the two 'eagle trees' by the viewing platform.

this male Hairy Woodpecker flew into one of the large cedar trees, in fact there was all kinds of bird activity in the area....

including Song Sparrows, enjoying the little bits of area where the snow has receded....

and in the same spot, chunkier, Fox Sparrows...

where has all the water gone?  Can't even see the river!  It is still over there right at the base of the mountain, but there is a lot of dry land out there now.

not much water in what was the 'log bay' either.

Enough though for...

Dark-eyed Junco's to be busy bathing in....

and this young eagle....you can see from the sheet of ice still on the log, how much water levels dropped since it froze.

There were Black-capped Chickadee, Towhee, and Red-wing Blackbirds there as well but it was at this point my camera battery died and my spare was at home.  Fortunately nothing really exciting, like say a Pygmy Owl showed up or I would have been really annoyed.
