Some interesting finds.....

Nice to get out today after yesterdays torrential rain!  Wandered down to the boat launch this morning....

to find it was rather misty and foggy, which always makes for some interesting photo opts

like this log full of gulls and line of ducks....

and this misty scene with Bald Eagles....

later in the morning we headed over to Harrison Bay....

still sporting quite a lot of fall colour....

then, out on the bay....

spotted this....definitely a Loon and I think it is a Yellow-billed Loon (I'm waiting for confirmation on that) because if it is, it will be yet another species for the IBA....for comparison here is....

a Common Loon that was further up the river.  So that was definitely an interesting find!  So was a flock of about 18 Western Meadowlarks, none of which would cooperate for a picture....but also very interesting was....

finding these poisonous Amanita Mushrooms growing on the beach!  Not where I'd expect to find them.

More normal sightings were....

some Northwestern Crows....

Song Sparrows....

and the Bald Eagle pair at their nest....in fact there seems to be another pair.....

thinking about setting up home a little further along.  No sign of any nest building yet though.
