Hummingbirds....

Its been kind of frustrating this past week, the weather has been beautiful but I've been a bit incapacitated so not able to get out and see what is going on, have had to concentrate on the birds at hand like these......

Anna's Hummingbirds....seeing hummingbirds in winter is still a novelty...not sure I'll ever get used to it!

Not just the Anna's around right now...

the Varied Thrush are now regulars for the winter like this one feasting on the berries of the Beauty Berry shrub....usually these purple berries are left until late in the season but this year between summers heat and drought the berry supply has been extremely limited, what berries there are, are being eaten ahead of normal schedule, we'll be digging into our freezers to feed them come late winter.
