Drip drying eagles.....

Finally, after 3  1/2 weeks of rain we had a dry day.

that meant a bit of fog first thing this morning....

you could make out, that where the water has dropped, there were lots of Bald Eagles out there in the mist.

could make out lots of them over at the park as well....was wishing I'd taken the long way and walked over there...

Later we headed over to Harrison Bay...

where the theme of the day was 'drip drying' eagles.....pretty much everyone we saw....

was perched with wings out spread, drying out....

walked right underneath these two....

here is another one.....

ever wonder what inspired the 'Thunderbird' on top of a totem pole?

Eagles weren't the only birds seen....

the soggy field still sported a large flock of Canada Geese and the smaller, Cackling Geese

Mallards....

a large flock of European Starling.....

and remember on our last trip here I'd mentioned hearing a Killdeer?  Well today we found one.

The gulls today....

were out on the log boom.  These appear to all be Glaucous-wing Gulls.  There were also a number of little Bufflehead ducks and a Common Loon.

But we will leave you with one more pair of...

drip drying eagles.
