The sun continues to shine but today it was accompanied by some fairly strong winds coming out of the interior. Winds like this are common in winter and are often a sign that cold weather is on it's way.
With the wind there was no sign of any little birds...but there sure were gulls out there....
lots of gulls....pretty much all Glaucous-wing Gulls. Glaucous-wing don't have any black on them at all. there are also a lot of Mew Gulls around but don't see any in this particular photo.
quite the feast out there right now! Of course there were also eagles around but you had to look up....way up....
to see Bald Eagles today....some were so high up they were barely visible....
occasionally a few would dip down lower and I swear there were a few that were just having a wonderful time harassing a flock of ducks that could never settle long enough for me to even ID. The eagles do hunt ducks when the supply of salmon is gone, but right now any eagle flying over low enough to see had such a full crop it was a wonder they could even fly! Which brings us to this item....
these educational signs are now appearing in the area
