Rain, rain, go away!!!

Enough already!!!  Another cold, gray wet day…

another gray, cloudy, showery day

water levels haven’t moved…it is so unseasonably cool that I guess nothing is melting.

3 members of the Chickadee family

The most notable thing today was a visit by the Black-capped Chickadee family, here are 3 of the 5 member family…

Black-capped Chickadee

think this was one of the parents…

Sticks aren't edible

this little guy really worked at that stick until he finally figured out it wasn’t edible…

The baby of the group

this one is the baby of the group – still begging food from mom and dad…(I don’t know if their eggs hatch at different times or not)

Now I wouldn’t normally post this but in the interest of science…

this is a Mole….you don’t normally see them because they are under the ground, but my dear canine companion dug this one up and killed it today so here you go.  With the rising water table, little creatures like the moles and shrews that are found in tunnels under the ground, are having to move to dryer territory.

One of the baby Towhee

We’ll end with another baby….one of those fledgling Spotted Towhee.
