Yes, it has been a while since I posted anything. Truth be told, there just hasn't been much of anything to report.
The great influx of eagles is over, in fact it was almost like someone threw a switch - one day there were eagles.....and then there weren't.
Of course the local pairs are still here and sometimes you see a few young ones but that is about it.
the weather had been unseasonably warm....
until, suddenly it wasn't....
bitter outflow winds arrived and the temperatures plummeted. For a couple of days it was just too cold to venture out at all.
although still well below freezing, the winds have died so we've been able to get out again.

Eurasian Collared Doves were snoozing in a sheltered sunny spot.
white this Varied Thrush was working it's way along the shoreline.
you can tell that everything is freezing up as the depth of the river has dropped dramatically leaving these interesting ice formations.
